Hyperopia (farsightedness)
Almost everyone encounters presbyopia at the age of 40–45. This is the result of a gradual, progressive decline in the eye’s accommodative ability that occurs with age. This condition is irreversible and progresses at different rates in different people.
A refractive error of the eye in which vision is impaired at near distances and may also be reduced at far distances.
Definition: Hyperopia, or farsightedness (low clinical refraction), is a condition in which images are focused behind the retina rather than directly on it. This disorder is caused either by insufficient refractive power of the eye’s optical media or by a shortened eyeball.
A type of hyperopia is presbyopia — an age-related decline in the lens’s ability to change its curvature, resulting in reduced focusing ability.

Symptoms of hyperopia
Congenital hyperopia may not cause noticeable discomfort in a child for a long time. Refractive abnormalities are often detected by parents or caregivers based on the child’s behavior. For example, a child may try to move toys or a book farther away to see them more clearly.

Acquired hyperopia is characterized by gradually developing symptoms, similar to age-related changes. The main symptom is difficulty seeing the outlines of objects at close distances, especially in low-light conditions.
Another symptom of hyperopia is asthenopia — visual discomfort when working with very small details. This is directly related to impaired accommodative function. However, people with hyperopia often experience constant accommodative strain; the lens refracts light more strongly, which to some extent compensates for the existing visual impairment.

Technologies for treating hyperopia

  • Femto LASIK -
